Kiwi summer staples Drax Project are returning home to bring their iconic live show to the stage, performing three headline shows across the North Island this December and January.
Bringing in the new year, the tour kicks off on Wednesday 31 December at Waihi Beach Hotel, followed by a show on Saturday 3 January at Butlers Reef, Ōakura before wrapping up at the iconic Black Barn Vineyards, Havelock North on Friday 9 January. A triad of shows to celebrate good tunes, a new year and brand new music.
Starting out as jazz students busking on the streets of Wellington, Shaan Singh, Matt Beachen, Sam Thomson and Ben O’Leary aka Drax Project have grown into one of New Zealand’s most exciting and dynamic bands. Known and loved for their unforgettable live shows and genre-bending sound that fuses jazz, R&B, pop, and hip-hop, the boys bring an infectious energy both on and off the stage.
2025 has been a stand out year for the band, with a UK and Europe headline tour under their belt, and a run of Australian shows supporting the legendary George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic. Most recently, they dropped an exciting new Coke Studio collaboration single ‘Around U’ featuring Australian icons Peking Duk and Kita Alexander.
Now, the boys are set to return home to take on Aotearoa this summer. Fans can expect to hear chart topping hits like ‘Woke Up Late’ and ‘Catching Feelings’, alongside new unreleased material that hints at the next chapter in their ever-evolving sound. New music is going to be released in 2025, just in time for the show - so don’t miss your chance to catch Drax Project live this Summer!
