    Amazing Venue with Wonderful Music

by Ray C on 12/06/2026Great Hall, Auckland Town Hall - Auckland

We had such a good time seeing the APO play such amazing music. Lucky to have international conductors and pianist and to see off the lead violin player who is off to join the Singapore Symphony Orchestra.

Fabulous concert, spoilt by seats double booked

by Muiso on 12/06/2026Great Hall, Auckland Town Hall - Auckland

Easy booking online & entry to the Great Hall. Our experience was marred by the double booking of our seats. Firstly one of our original seats wasn't even in the row, one of the team bought us an extra seat. 5 minutes before the performance began we were told our seats were double booked & given seats up above the balcony. These seats were separated by the stairs so we were unable to sit together. After interval we were offered 2 seats together front row of the balcony, very much appreciated. However again we had to ask other patrons to move so we could have our allocated seats. This situation was very stressful.

    Wonderful

by Glenda on 09/05/2026Kiri Te Kanawa Theatre - Auckland

I took my 38 year old daughter who used to watch the movie when she was 4-7. Hundreds of times. Her nana made her red Dorothy shoes which she loved wearing. She knew all the words to all the songs. Now a primary school teacher she said the vocabulary was so sophisticated back then!

    Wonderful, what a pianoman! Extraordinary!

by Margie on 13/02/2026Great Hall, Auckland Town Hall - Auckland

The orchestra was superb, lots of tympani and brass which they must have loved, the conductor was so immersed in the music, cajoling the best out of the players, and the magnificent pianist ..there are no words to describe what he gave to that Rachmaninoff, awe inspiring!

A great night for all the family, I would like to see how the organ could be included into the event. Music was uplifting with brilliant choir chorus, thanks

Bic Runga and The Auckland Philharmonia

by Rochester on 08/09/2025Kiri Te Kanawa Theatre - Auckland

Outstanding performance. Bic Runga performed with purity and humble class. Loved every moment. The Auckland Philharmonia are always great. And their arrangements with Bic's music was perfect, it added without taking away or overpowering her songs. Bravo. Just wish the whole night could of gone on longer. That's my only complaint if any. 10 out of 10.
