Sir Dave Dobbyn announces encore of Selected Songs at The Civic in July
One of the country’s most treasured musical voices, Sir Dave Dobbyn, has announced one-night only of Selected Songs - Encore at The Civic Auckland on Saturday 25 July. This encore show comes off the back of his hugely successful sold out Selected Songs Aotearoa tour in 2025.
With over 45 years as a recording artist, Sir Dave Dobbyn has shaped the sound of Kiwi music, penning the soundtrack to generations of New Zealand lives. From iconic anthems to an extraordinary catalogue of deeper cuts, Dobbyn’s set promises an unforgettable journey through one of the nation’s most storied songwriting legacies.
Diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease in 2022, Dobbyn declared it “business as usual” – and continues to inspire with his unmistakable voice and enduring presence on stage. Recognised with a Knighthood in 2021 for his services to music, Dobbyn remains one of New Zealand’s most revered cultural figures.

Sir Dave and his very talented band were amazing, loved the addition of the saxophone and trumpet. Sir Dave certainly continues to be a master in music and aroha. A wonderful venue will be back for more. Thanks Dave and crew for a wondering evening.

We loved the new theatre and the concert was amazing. Dave was interactive with the audience and the lighting was great. The music and band were outstanding. We loved the songs and especially the sing along to well know songs. It was a fabulous night and we loved it!

A well organized event with friendly helpful staff. The show itself was just great. Have been a fan since the 70s and he certainly didn't disappoint. Wouldn't hesitate to go again if opportunity arose.
